EMPLOYEE EMPOWERMENT

Empowerment is the concept catering to the provision of visualising and actually feeling the privilege of being endowed with a power to surpass a task sensed with responsibility and authority.Employee empowerment is a congruence of 3S concept relating the SAY, STAY and STRIVE in an organisation. Employees are considered the asset for an organisation which delivers its work for the mutual benefit of oneself and the organisation .

It was the saga of prehistoric times , which is now witnessed to be a sad story or a nightmare when the employees were considered as the machine to be continuously tortured for gaining productivity in terms of production rather than the employee efficiency and productivity. But with the advent of industrial rennaisance and through consideration to the development of concepts of industrial relations , social security and labour welfare , we are now in an era where employees are considered to share equal rights and privileges as the employer . The master- slave relationship has transformed itself into a new paradigm leading the concept of partnership between employees -employer for the fulfillment of organisational objectives . The avenues for participative management style has certainly developed a sense of belongingness among the employees who endure for development of self with the organisation they sweat for .
