EAT LESS AND BE HEALTHY

Overeating is one of the most wonderful practices among those who think they can afford it. In fact, authorities say that nearly all who can get as much as desire, overeat to their disadvantage.

A meal at night, the so-called ‘dinner’, is the fashion with many, and often it is taken shortly before retiring. It is unnecessary and could be forgone, not only once in a week but daily without loss of strength. Three to five hours are needed to digest food. While sleeping, this food, not being required to give energy for work is in many cases converted into excess fat, giving rise to over-weight and obesity. The evening meal should be as light as possible and, taken three or four hours before retiring. This plan prevents overeating, conserves energy and reduces food costs. Millions of people following such a plan can save a great deal more food than can be saved by missing one meal per weak and they would at the same time improve their health.

A better way to save food is for the rich to avoid overeating rather than miss one meal a week. One should have a light dinner at least three hours before retiring. Wastage of food can thus be checked without affecting one’s health. Eating much at night adds fat to our body. A light meal keeps one active, saves food, reduces expenditure and improves one’s fitness. This will save money and food and ensure better health. Such a plan will work better and save more food than the habit of missing a meal per week.
